Our Budapest Itinerary
Something Special
I’ve wanted to go to Budapest since watching Wes Anderson’s Grand Budapest Hotel. Little did I know that the movie is not set in Budapest and is made up of multiple fictional places based on various European cities.
Nevertheless, Jon and I loved the city! Even more than we thought we would. At first, we were disappointed because it was supposed to be part of a larger trip that included the Netherlands, but COVID decided otherwise. After a few moments of discomfort upon arrival, we quickly learned this city was something special.
See what we did in Budapest. Let me know what we missed because we will definitely go back!
Day 1
Socks Coffee for Breakfast
Hike Gellert Hill to see a panorama view of the city
Advent Bazilika Christmas Market
The Great Synagogue
Rudas Bath
Day 2
Twentysix for Breakfast
Szechenyi Bath & Swimming Pool
Heroes’ Square
The Great (Central) Market Hall
Lukacs Bath
Dinner at Mazol Tov

Day 3
A La Maison in Buda for breakfast
Walk around Buda Castle & Fisherman’s Bastion
Hungarian National Gallery
Street Food Karavan for lunch!
Grumpy Cafe for coffee before heading to the airport
I’d highly recommend everything we did, but if you were to only do one thing, go to the baths! We were able to go to THREE different baths. All of them were unique experiences.
The city is super walkable so we were able to walk most places. The tram and underground were also very easy to use. We were even able to take a bus right to the airport.
